In the forty minute interview, I interviewed a gentleman in his mid twenty- four’s named Joseph. The young man’s ethnicity is half white and half Russian, who his parents happened to emigrate into the United States in the late 1980’s. Joseph eventuatue to be born in San Diego and his contemporary residence is in Camarillo. Joseph is a middle class person, due to saving money for seven years of rigorous labor. Joseph work in various corporations from being a phone technician to dealing with customers over the phone with a insurance company. Joseph conveys that he worked for a long time to afford to pay for his own tuition. Currently, Joseph is attending Cal State Channel Islands to obtain his degree in Business Administration and to finally fulfill his dreams. Moreover, the captivating interview took place in my dorm at CSUCI. Joseph felt comfortable getting interviewed in my room than being questioned about his life in the library. My dorm was a peaceful environment without having to hear other people’s conversations. I was fortunate to meet this man last month in the elevator and I was devoted by the less amount of time being as friends. From an etic point of view, Joseph intrigued me to visualize the American-Russian culture and how it affected him as maturing up, becoming socially interactive, and his imbue system about society. Some key components of cultural elements are norms, values, subjective elements, and beliefs that can be further expanded into social organization, customs and traditions, religion, language, forms of government, and economic systems.
