Introductory Speech Outline I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: Hello everyone, my name is Viet Vo and I am 19 years old. Have you ever migrate to another country and do not know anything about that country? My family and I have been in United States for 5 years. B. Motivation Link: I had a very harsh life and struggled with everything such as new environment, new culture, etc. Also, I faced many major obstacles such as language; the way I dress that is not similar to the native people, foods, etc. However, those struggles and obstacles taught me a significant lesson of how I could become more success in my life here. At school, I really could not eat lunch in there because school mostly served foods that had cheese in it such as hamburger, cheese pizza, nachos etc. a. Going with my cousin is the best way to practice eating the food that I dislike. She love cheese and I have no option to rather eat it than stay hungry because she loved to go to fast food restaurant. 2. In addition, I am not really like Mexican food. a. A lots of people said that if you eat Mexican food, you have to deal with spicy because spices will help the food taste awesome. However, I do not like spicy, so when I try it, I do not like it. b. Moreover, Asian food is salty a little bit and Mexican food is not. III. Conclusion A. Summary Statement: Those obstacles that I have to overcome such as learning English, changing the way I dress, and trying new food are helping me to adapt to a new environment and become more successful.
