The 1920s was a very important decade for American history. Many new businesses and new ideas were being produced and becoming popular during this time. There was a copious amount of new inventions that were mass produced due to the advancement in technology and in factory work. A change in the ways people purchased items also played a huge role in the improvement and downfall of the economy in the 1920s. The Ford Motor Company boomed with an overwhelming amount of demand for cars. Televisions, radios, and films were also being produced, and these helped the spread and growth of advertisement. Advertisements played a very significant role during the 1920s because they convinced people that they needed a car, they needed make up, and everyday people were being persuaded to buy products that they didn’t actually need. Along with advertisements came the idea of conformity.
