Is a College Education Worth the Cost? College is worth the cost because pursuing a higher education will increase your chances and choices of getting a better job, or of overall improved economic success in your life. Many People argue that college is not worth the cost, Some people say that college is too expensive and when they graduate they are not able to find a job with their degrees. Of course they must do this in order to pay off their college debt, “38 percent of students who have graduated college in the past decade strongly agree that their higher education was worth the cost, according to results of 30,000 alumni polled by Gallup-Purdue Index” (Selingo). College is worth the cost, there is lower unemployment rate, higher salary, better and job opportunities. There is a lot of easy chance and opportunities of getting employed with a college degree. Someone with a college degree receive or get a higher salary than someone with no degree. It is easy for someone with a college degree get hired than someone with no degree, “27 percent of the nation’s workforce may now be made up of people who are ‘overeducated’ for the jobs they hold” (Selingo). A college degree gives them access to alumni career services and mentorship from other graduates. Having access to these services helps give graduates direction for changing career paths when needed or wanted. The degree also gets them further along towards a master's if they choose further education in the future. The secret is balancing education with a reasonable amount of debt. It's very hard to not feel like you personally have a trillion dollars of debt if you borrow $100,000 plus for an undergraduate
