Alcohol is the most preferred drink when socializing or celebrating to an occasion. Alcohol helps you feel at ease and often very relaxed, even at times during pressure. And this is the main reason as to why it leads people to be addicted to the drink. Once, a person gets addicted to alcohol, he or she tends to consume more of it than usual. And this leads to alcohol abuse. Alcohol abuse is the repeated drinking of alcohol too often than their ordinary routine. Alcohol consumption would not be considered a problem, although excessive use of alcohol is a social problem; abuse of alcohol may have the person at ease or feeling relaxed but it affects the person’s relationship with the outside world. Road accidents, violent behavior and negative effects on relationships, and health concerns are just few of the major victims of alcohol abuse. The addiction starts to develop in the persons mind making them believe they cannot function without a drink. All around us we can see people suffering from alcohol abuse. Alcohol abuse not only affects the drinker but also the people around them, for instance alcohol abuse causes domestic violence. If you switch on the news or read the newspaper, you can notice domestic violence caused by alcohol abuse happen on a daily basis. Alcohol often tends to evoke feeling in people that they normally do not express, for instance when some people consume alcohol, the alcohol evokes emotions such as anger, and aggression causing the person to be more short - tempered. This feeling induces the person to lash out verbally or physically on family members around them or anyone else around.
