In “An Insider’s Perspective: The Donna Beegle Story,” the author, Donna Beegle retell the movements in her life since she is a kid until when she gets her doctorate degree. At first, she dreams to become a mother and to have many children as possible. However, she cannot support her family due to the low income. After overcame numerous obstacles, she asked for assistances from a Community Action Agency and her life started to change. She began her education by getting a GED, 2 and 4 years degree, and her doctorate degree continuously.
Cindy Droog, a middle-aged author, that started writing in the first grade. She continued writing and eventually went to the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University for her bachelor degree in journalism and public relations (Droog). Years later, she went to receive her master's degree in communications management at Syracuse University. Droog started out writing as a ghostwriter for “doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, hockey players, and others whose intelligence – or recurring head injuries – paralyzed their ability to communicate with the common folk” (Droog). But eventually, became sick of it and started her first weekly column, The Stay-At-Work Mom.

She went to college, and got a diploma as a biology major, but she did not enjoy doing it. She then became a social worker, because she wanted to help people.
When she becomes the editor of a school newspaper in the tenth grade, she has already planned her career. She can engage with other pupils in a pleasant way and with grace thanks to her profession. In addition to serving as the school's news editor, she lands an actual job in Greenwich Village as a waitress. Before finally boarding a morning bus to New York City, she also submits applications to colleges there. She works several jobs in New York after arriving there before landing a full-time position at a magazine company and moving in with her partner.
Mary desperately has goals of becoming a successful artist in life. However, she never attains a paycheck for her art. Mary is forced to work as a teacher to buy food and pay bills. Although Matthews does understand the importance of a degree and how it pays off, he states that “many more workers today would have been better off not going to college at all.” Matthews states this due to the Annual Wage by Education chart that demonstrates the amount of money the 25th percentile of degree holders make compared to non-degree holders.
