When a person has everything they need, they still seem to want more. On the other hand, people who have nothing, are content as long as they have someone. Martin Luther King Jr., wouldn’t have been able to accomplish his dream without the help and support from those around him, even though so many were against him. With devotion and support from the one’s that matter, the American Dream of rising to accomplish can be achieved. Being alone isn’t always easy, and neither was making history. Martin Luther King Jr.’s American Dream of freedom and racial equality could only have been successful by the backing of his family, friends, and fans. As time continues to pass, African Americans were still not completely free, not even after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. They are stuck in a world of discrimination and segregation, exile in their own land. Advocating nonviolence, civil disobedience was one of the biggest barriers they had to overcome, as most of King’s brothers wanted to fight back against the disapproving whites. All they want is to be able to buy whatever they want to satisfy their craving, but having a lot of money, comes with a price to pay. Having excess amounts of money to spend, usually will end up being used to buy someone’s happiness, but that can only go so far. Growing up in an upper-middle class home, most things were obtainable whenever they were wanted. It wasn’t a hard life, but there was always something missing… Someone missing.
