Martin Luther, a German priest, theologian, and professor In 1517 pre protestant reformation saw the growing issues with the Catholic power in Wittenberg Germany. Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the church door to debate the teachings and punishments of the Catholic church. He states the corruption of the church. .Martin Luther's 95 Theses is a huge turning point in history because it paved the way for the protestant reformation. This sparked the protestant reformation and the challenge to the authority of the Catholic church, and later, the development of individual liberty, religious toleration and the influence on modern western ideas of religious freedom are key changes that came from Luther’s work.

In Martin Luther's theses he states “When the lord and master Jesus Christ said repent he willed the entire life of believers to be one repentance”. In the claim Luther is going into detail about how the church doesn't understand that if one repents his sins should be forgiven. These ideals are carried in modern christian churches you see today. If the Catholic church did follow those ideals back then they wouldn't have inserted as much fear and power onto the population like they had. The Church used sins as a law system rather than a religion. Martin created a turning point with this because of how he questioned the church so thoroughly. Debating the church and showing the people that the Catholic empire was not nearly as biblical as it was perceived created a huge short term impact. This is because people started to see the hard core evidence of what was happening within the church which jump started the protestant revolution. Luther states in his theses “Yet it doesn't mean society inner repentance such inner repentance enters society”. Martin was trying to prove the point that repentance is an actual biblical way and that in order to fully enter a faithful state of mind the people of the church need to understand repentance not as one but as a whole group. That simply if a small number of people break away from the Catholic church it will not induce change but if everyone does change will be created. “Martin Luther developed his theological positions in early life which caused him to leave the church”. Luther leaving the church may not be perceived as a big impact but it sure was. This was a huge political move by Martin which caused a lot of confusion and anger within the church. It wasn't till Luther actually posted the theses that it created change and started the protestant revolution. Not to say that this wasn't a massive step for Luther, it sure was. If Martin didn't have the courage to break away from the church the theses would never have been
