Martin Luther wasn’t always a monk until he almost got struck by lightning and then it struck him (not literally) that he needed to clean up his act. Martin wrote the 95 thesis, which did spark a little bit of a revolution in the religion aspect of it. Even more of a mess formed when Martin Luther refused to recant. With this Martin Luther made a doctrine and thought that the bible should be the the basis of religion life and available to everybody. Martin Luther started the Protestant Reformation, and this was the beginning of many other religions. The 95 thesis is what began the Protestant Reformation which lead on to other things. He had the support from the people to back up his idea he just didn’t have the rulers on his side. He spread the word by nailing the 95 theses to the church door. The public criticism also started the Protestant Reformation. It was written in Latin so only the church leaders could read it. It criticized the power of the pope and the wealth of the Church. What really sent red flags in the air for the Catholic priests were when Martin Luther said that indulgences had no power to get rid of sin and get people less time in purgatory. So then he left and everybody went crazy and were very unhappy. His ideas still continued and people still supported, he ended up making a comeback and he eventually was successful.
