Is the Lottery A Good Idea?
Imagine a jackpot of a hundred plus million, the thought of winning all that money is overwhelming. To yourself you would think two hundred dollars is nothing compared to that jackpot. So this is why the lottery is a mistake, a way to get people to spend money on false hopes. Then out of nowhere “Coming into a quick pile of cash usually means that people will come out of the woodwork looking to get a piece of your pie.” This in a nutshell means when you strike it big, you'll have lots of new friends and family members you have never met. Most of the population belives in this curse. It is belived that when you win the lottery you will have teribble things happen. This in effect will lead to lottery winners losing all there winnings. In Edelman, Ric article “Why So Many Lottery Winners Go Broke.” he points out that "The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards says nearly a third of lottery winners declare bankruptcy—meaning they were worse off than before they became rich...". This is saying money does not solve problems, it casuses more. The sad part is that alot of people will still play the lottery, even though if they where to win it could bring more pain then joy.
