Sir Isaac Newton was a real Renaissance man with accomplishments in several fields, including astronomy, physics and mathematics. He gave us new theories on gravity, planetary motion, and optics. He was born on January 4, 1643 in Woolsthorpe Colsterworth, United Kingdom, and died in March 31, 1727.
At age 16 his mother decided Newton should quit school and run the farm, but he showed no interest and wasn't very good at it, so his mother realized he should go to university, so she arranged for him to finish school. In 1665 the university he went to (Cambridge University) closed due to an outbreak of the Plague. During the years he was home, he made three discoveries that revolutionized the future of science.
Isaac Newton was born on January 4,1643 in Woolsthrope, England. Newton was the son of a prosperous local farmer, who died three months before he was born. Newton was an only child, and his mother's name was Hannah Ayscough Newton, later on Hannah re-married Barnabas Smith and had three children. At age twelve Newton was introduced to the fascinating world of chemistry. When Newton was almost done with basic education, his mother wanted him to become a farmer.

It is my honor today to be accepting for the great Isaac Newton this at most prestigious award, the Nobel Prize. Isaac Newton was known for his great strides in the Scientific Revolution. He was one of the most important minds in the Scientific Revolution, hardships and determination is what led him to such achievements. A true Renaissance man Isaac Newton was a physicist and mathematician. He made great discoveries that changed the view of humankind.
There are plenty of amazing scientists out there, but out of all of them, Isaac Newton was easily one of the smartest; and was around during the scientific revolution. Newton was born to a single mom in Woolsthorpe, because his father had died three months before his birth. Around the age of three, he was discarded when his mother remarried and sent him off to live with his grandmother; this made an everlasting impact on his relations with other people in later life (Brain 148). Before being born, Issac's father passed away, who was uneducated and wealthy. He was born prematurely, and there was considerable concern for his survival. Isaac lived a harsh life while growing up because he was forced to help his mother with the farming rather than getting his education in school. The education of Newton started in the dame schools at Skillington and Stoke,beginning, when he was at the age of five.
Although Isaac Newton is most famously known for being hit on the head with an apple and discovering gravity, the scientist had many discoveries in less complex subjects of science that did not involve many complex equations and algorithms, affecting the average citizen both in his time and the current. In 1696 he was appointed Warden at the Royal Mint. Even though the position was mostly ceremonial, Newton sought to solve the financial crisis that plagued England. In the late 1600s,the country’s currency system was made up of silver coins. These coins posed a significant issue; the silver used to make them was worth more than the value of the coin itself.
Men such as Sir Isaac Newton, although may seem privileged, come from humble and harrowing beginnings. He had a long and difficult life however when he was exposed to the world of science, his mind blossomed with the colors of intelligence and interest. Newton is a well known scientist, mainly for his discoveries in gravity. For a man well ahead of his time, he deserves to be appraised in great detail.
I found Sir Isaac Newton’s biography the most interesting out of the short biographies we read for this module. I found him to be the most interesting because he invented and discovered so many important things, such as gravity, the three laws of motion and the reflective telescope. He did so much that even Albert Einstein, who many people think is brilliant, believed that Sir Isaac Newton was one of the smartest men that ever lived. That is a huge compliment from someone who is also considered to be one of the smartest people to live by the general population. Just like Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton started off as just an adequate student, but later went on to make great discoveries.
The world how we know it today would not have been possible without the revolutionary ideas and discoveries of humans such as Sir Isaac Newton. He used mathematics to explain the world around him, and his understanding of the universe and the world came from his equations. His discoveries are still relevant today and thanks to him, three centuries later humans would be able to go to space using his laws of motion and gravity. Sir Isaac Newton was born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England on December 25, 1642, (January 4, 1643, New Style) and died in London on March 20, 1727 (March 31, New Style) at the age of 84. He is one of the most famous figures from the scientific revolution of the 17th century.
Sir Isaac Newton accomplished many things. We have learned quite a lot from what he has discovered, and most of it’s used in today’s education systems. Most of us have become familiar with his three laws of motion and have applied them to daily life. Aside from that, one of his most important accomplishments also includes inventing the Reflecting Telescope. Galileo Galilei was one of the first people to invent a telescope, but this one was invented in 1668.
In 1665 Newton took his bachelor’s degree at Cambridge without honors. The university closed the next two years because of plague, so Isaac returned to Woolsthorpe in midyear. In the next year and a half, he made a series of new contributions to science. He later recalled, “All this was in the two plague years of 1655 and 1666, for in those days I was in my prime age for invention, and minded mathematics and philosophy more than at any time since.” In mathematics, Isaac conceived his “method of fluxions,” laid in the foundations for his theory of light and color, and achieved significant understanding into the problem of planetary motion.
A simple thought or idea can change the world, alter the way we see and do things, no matter how little and simplistic it may seem. Isaac Newton developed his ideas when that apple fell from the tree, an idea which led to marvellous things. That normal basic abscission wasn’t so normal anymore. Newton was able to influence the world of science not only because he had the abilities but also the facilities to do so. It is my dream to attend a top-class university where I can develop my abilities and have access to numerous facilities that will enable me to integrate my own ideas into the world and be a great influence (presumably greater than Newton’s) in the future of science and technology.
