People try to conform so that they blend in instead of being isolated. That being said, do people coincidentally happen to follow others, or do they intentionally try to conform. In Let It Enfold You Charles remarks on how he is very isolated from other people, but he really was not. For example: Charles was not the only one infused with anger, he notices that other people are full of “hatred” and “glossed over with petty grievances” (Bukowski 2). This signifies that even if he is separating himself from others, he is not the only one doing so.
