ature: Whether people believe it or not, marijuana has influenced literature. Many people know at least one person who is terrified or at least scared of clowns. One of the most famous books written about clowns is the book “It” written by Stephen King. Stephen King was always doped out during the 80’s, which is also when a majority of his work came out. Stephen King began writing as a young child. His father abandoned him and his brother. He had a fear of abandonment as a result. He would have night terrors. All of which were written while he was on drugs. In his book Misery A man who is an author of a few novels, gets into a car accident and breaks his legs, a woman finds him. The woman turns out to be a crazed fan of the author. She made him stay at her house, and would not let him leave, because she wanted him to finish his series that she had been reading. A connection can be made between his life and this book. When King was a child he was hit by a car, and broke his leg, though there is a connection, it may not be the entire reason for the plot. King is famous for his horror stories and thrilling novels, but the question remains, would the same books be written if he hadn’t been on drugs? It is possible that they wouldn’t. On marijuana your mind becomes open, people become more creative, and have a new way of putting things into words. Think about it, who could come up with such outrageous plots while being sober?
