The frosty winter air is opening the door for another heavenly Christmas. A maelstrom of love hits every soul, leaving a magical touch of joy and faith. What is the best thing to do in this season? Watch Christmas movies. Two holiday films that will leave something to talk about are A Christmas Carol, a movie adapted to the book by Charles Dickens, and Miracle on 34th Street, a John Hughes production.
1. Who is the actual director of the play in Bullets Over Broadway? The initial playwriter is David Shane, who has already wrote two other plays wich were failures. This new play is supposed to be a great success, because of his decision to not let anyone interfere in his script.
In the novel, the Catcher in the Rye written by J. D. Salinger, readers question the main character’s authenticity. Holden goes back and forth from acting genuine to acting like a phoney, it’s hard for the reader to trust Holden. Being a phoney is someone acting like they’re someone they’re not, which Holden does at some points. A person can tell when someone is genuine by the way they talk about the subject, how their tone is, and their emotions. Holden struggled with finding people who actually care enough to have a serious talk with him.
Cormac McCarthy’s modern western shines both as a film and as a novel. The 2007 film directed by the Coen brothers, Ethan and Coel. The film for No Country for Old Men set very close to the novel in my opinion. The Coen brothers have built a representation for being “one of the most visionary and idiosyncratic filmakers of the late twentieth century. They bring a modern twist to classic American movie genres.
Cormac McCarthy has written a multitude of novels that take a setting of the old western and No Country for Old Men was no different from his normal style writing. No Country for Old Men is set in Texas, and is not much different from what you would think about Texas. Much is still desert and dirt roads, old dinners, and not too much civilization. However, they do have a Walmart which is where one of our main characters Llewelyn Moss and his wife meet. McCarthy doesn’t provide much back ground information throughout the entire novel.
The 1800s and 1900s are like a different universe to new generations. There’s not much insight to what life was like during that time. However, Laura Ingalls Wilder helps give us this insight. Laura was born on February 7, 1867 in Pepin, Wisconsin. Her family’s little log cabin in the woods is where Laura’s adventures began.
The two also experience another grand theft auto and shootout situation getting home at the end of “Road to Rupert.” Overall, the combination of the animated adult sitcom and the adventure/comedy-based buddy genre is a smooth one, as both genres allow for multiple potential story aspects and character relationship

Michael Brooks ENGH 396 Reading Response #2 September 17, 2015 Sunday in the Park Sunday in the Park by Bel Kaufman is an emotional short story the details a nice family’s encounter with an obnoxious, unpolished family. The short story plays on human emotion, instinct, and behavior as a way to illustrate the contrasting differences between both families. The story is about a family, a mother, a father and a young boy, who intend to spend a relaxing day together in the park. In the park, the young boy from the “nice family” is playing in the sandbox with a young boy from the other family. Suddenly, the boy from the other family starts throwing sand at the boy from the main family.
Friends made fun of reality as I said it before. There jokes were probably ahead of its time. In the end these are the few of many key essentials that made the show Friends such a fantastic
The Powerful Puff Girls The original series of The Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite shows to watch as a child, where three little girls who have superpowers go around their city and fight anyone who poses danger. The show is a representation of how strong girls can be, how they have the ability to kick ass and save the world. While the show exhibits girls as brave and daring, it still conforms to the usual gendered and heteronormative society we live in where girls think boys are irresistible and where boys will be boys and girls just have to deal with it. Some of the characters give representation to different ideals, such as androgyny and being a single father, but it 's not always positive.
