John F. Kennedy took the oath of office to become the nation’s 35th president.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy became America’s 35th President of the January 20, 1961 until his assassination, November 22, 1963. Kennedy was also commonly known as JFK and at the age of 43, is the youngest president ever elected.

Kennedy’s speech was based on factual events of his time and provided achievable goals for this country. Kennedy acknowledge the trials Americans could face, instead of downplaying hardships of war.

 John F. Kennedy’s Inaugural Address is considered one of the greatest political speeches in America history. It is most famous for asking Americans to support our country, “"Ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country” (John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, 1961). The President spoke to the world at a time when Americans were growing fearful of war and instead of diminishing the threat, he warned of the struggles they could face and discussed the duties and responsibilities of the United States and its citizens.
