Hunter leader Jack is the representation of the population who are normal with the civilized cover, but turns savage as the civilized cover falls away. When the boys first land on the island, Jack is determined as leader of the hunters, he thinks of the good of the group by going hunting for food and explore the island among Ralph and Simon. However, as the time advances, he becomes obsessed with hunting and reveals progressively more of his savage natural instinct.
