Background Info. Jackie Robinson was a very successful young man, his fame started when he was in highschool. Robinson got varsity letters in four different sports, basketball, football, track, and baseball. When he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers he was forced to stay in a separate hotel without his teammates because he was a different color. Jackie Robinson was awarded the Rookie of the year award in 1947. He was arrested for not giving up his seat to a white person on the bus and later was released of all charges. The Brooklyn Dodgers had never won a world series before, but Jackie Robinson made that dream, come true, winning their first world series against the NY Yankees. Later on, after Robinson retired he was inducted into the hall of fame.
