Janie's Decision Analysis

I think that Janie’s decision was neither completely a good nor a bad one. The quote, “Janie hurried out of the front gate and turned south. Even if Joe was not there waiting for her, the change was bound to do her good.” (Hurston 32). shows how Janie thinks she is making the right decision. Logan’s statements before about how he was too good for her really made her think about what she wanted and she decided to leave. Janie’s decision could be seen as good if you believe that she should be able to make her own decisions and decide based off her own happiness, but not necessarily others’.
