The Great War broke out in Europe and went on from July 28, 1914, to November 11, 1918. In those four years, there was an extreme loss of life and traumatic experiences which would scar the countries involved forever. The war was officially ended with the Treaty of Versailles signed in Paris, France on June 28, 1919. This treaty was set up with the intentions to avoid a world war to ever break out again. However, this deal had heavy punishments and restrictions against Germany due to the fact they were the biggest aggressors. Adolf Hitler is the face of Germany, Benito Mussolini is in charge of Italy, and Japan is Hideki Tojo. Japan and America relations have been decent up until this point. Japan relies heavy on American exports such as airplane fuel, scrap metal and most importantly oil. On the Japanese end, they were harsh to American and Filipino soldiers after they conquered the Philipines. They forced them on the Bataan death march. The Bataan Peninsula was a 55-mile march for an estimated 75,000 troops into prison camps. There they suffer diseases and malnutrition which end in a multitude of deaths. across the Pacific Ocean to the west coast of the United States, there is fear. at the time most of the Japanese immigrants were located on the west coast.
