I will do this by using symbols, photographs, animations, quotations and other imagery to communicate this topic. This visual essay is intended to inform anyone about the use of this topic in Jasper Jones. Scene1: The picture of the house presents a nice home owned by an ordinary family. The background (picture of the house) fades from the coloured picture into a black and white picture. This shows that something bad is happening. We have Eliza who is watching her sister in the tree, when she suddenly drops with rope around her head. There is a letter as well with the reason she hung herself. This is a huge climax as it represents a large issue in modern society. To many people it is relatable and this further adds to the effect of the scene. Scene 3: The letter that Laura had written before she hung herself, whit quotes which closer explaining her difficult condition. She was bitten and rapped by her father. Scene 4: We have a picture of the home from the beginning, and Eliza who is burning the house down. At the beginning and after every scene we have picture of crumbled girl. Pictures are supported by quotes from novel, and they have the most significant part in this visual essay: The picture of a crumbled girl sitting alone represents Eliza who is very depressed because of everything that happened. The picture is fading in black. This shows the darkness that eats her, and all the negative feelings. The image of the lock presents her feelings as hidden away and she is unable to talk about them or gain closure. Again, this is a huge climax in the book as all the events lead up to this moment. The significance of the darkness is to show that there is a gradual decline in Eliza's mental health until this event occurs due to not being able to share how she
