His location allowed him to write with little concern for the controversy surrounding his two previous Discourses, and the period was one of the most productive of his life (Delaney). Book One of The Social Contract by Jean-Jacques Rousseau focuses on the reasons that people give up their natural liberty in order to achieve protection from threats to themselves and their property. If I was going to choose a seen from a movie to teach someone about the elements of mis-en-scene it would be a scene from the movie Joyful Noise. I would first tell a person the mis-en-scene are the actors, lighting, props, and costume. Basically it is anything that is used to make up a set.
