TKAM In the movie “ To Kill a Mockingbird” , Jem is an older brother of his sister, Scout. Throughout Jem's days he grows into a mature, outspoken, and brave young man. Jem is very respectful to the people around. He spends most of his time running around Maycomb with his sister, Scout. Jem is not influenced to treat different colored people differently then he would if they were white. Jem showed a big amount of maturity in the movie, To Kill a Mockingbird. Maturity is growing and becoming more aware of things around you and caring more. Jem is very protective of his younger sister Scout. Jem started getting himself involved in the case his father was in with Tom Robinson. He was very upset because Tom was convicted of raping a white women. Jem and his sister Scout try to figure out who it was ,so Jem made Scout sit right outside the fence while he went into Boo Radley's yard to see if he could see anything. Jem quickly found out just how dangerous going into that yard was but it was not going to stop him from figuring out who Boo Radley was. wants to go to the courthouse to witness the defense of Tom Robinson. Jems bravery gets to him when he and Scout were walking back from the school play and Jem hears something walking behind them every time they walk. Jem makes them stop walking and all of a sudden someone comes up and starts messing with them. Scout is in her ham costume because she lost her dress. The random guy pushes Scout over and Jem helps Scout up because the guy could get to him. Jem's arm ended up being broken but they could not figure out who did it. They later find out that Boo Radley is standing behind the door as if he was trying to hide himself. Boo Radley stabbed the guy while he was messing with the kids. The man was named Bob
