The book starts off in New York City. Jeremy, who is the main character, is at a live studio talk show. The special guest of the talk show is a medium. Jeremy gets called to the stage so the medium can ask him some “questions”. Jeremy goes to the front and talks to the medium, and agrees with everything that the medium is saying. But what the medium doesn’t know is that Jeremy wanted to prove that the man didn’t really know what he was talking about. Jeremy proved to the audience and the talk show host that the medium had been scamming people for years.
