Jesus of Nazareth is regarded to be one of the most consequential figures throughout history, his actions have impacted and influenced countless individuals and communities for centuries. Despite many years since his impact, many of us still know him and what he has accomplished. Through the words of the church, catholic school, and public debates, countless pieces of art and film inspired by him, and the way he affected lives through good and bad. Jesus of Nazareth also known as the Messiah is one of the most significant and impactful historical figures to date.

Through millions of paintings, many renowned artists have been inspired by Jesus Christ himself. One of the most acclaimed and expensive portraits is called “Salvator Mundi." This painting was sold for 450.3 million dollars. Yet most might not know the name, many know the artist Leonardo Da Vinci. One of the most famous paintings of Jesus' life events was also created by Leonardo Da Vinci. It is dubbed the “Last Supper.” Other famous paintings inspired by Jesus include, “Disputation of the Holy Sacrament,” “Head Of Christ,” “Christ Crucified,” and “Supper At Emmaus.” All of these paintings total up to 1.24 billion dollars, not including the other thousands of paintings Jesus has inspired other artists to create. Aside from paintings, Jesus also has many films, TV shows, and educational videos about him. "The Passion of the Christ" is the most well-known Jesus film. Earning up to 612.1 million dollars at the box office. This film portrays his life before being crucified. Other films include, “Son Of God,” “The Last Temptation of Christ,” and “Jesus.” In schools, many kids watch videos on Jesus about his lessons and life through DVD players or Youtube. Youtube channels like “The Beginners Bible" and DVDs have also been played by millions of people and kids. However, many took them as a justification for hatred, racism, oppression, and genocide. Jesus has done well for his followers, but we can’t ignore how some have misinterpreted his teachings. A prime example of this is when Europeans docked in Canada. To justify residential schools, they used Christianity as a motivating aspect. As we know, residential schools were all over Canada to vindicate First Nation kids' abuse, bigotry, genocide, and religious persecution. Many were coerced into believing in God because that was the only “real” belief. Many were also kidnapped from their homes. Some of these students are still buried under these schools. Over 4000 First Nation kids were killed because they believed in something impure. Even though this wasn’t Jesus' fault, his teachings were taken the wrong way by his followers and many communities like the First Nations were negatively affected. Another reason also ties in with one of the examples supporting the first paragraph, the topic of abortion. Due to the removal of Roe v Wade, several people have expressed if they are pro-life, or pro-choice. As Christians, since it is a sin to kill a fetus, a large number live pro-life. There have been a lot of pro-life pro-choice rallies in the past year, but this isn't something new. As a matter of fact, this also happened in the 1970s.
