In Viramontes’ novel Under the Feet of Jesus, the author composes symbolic representations about the daily life of a migrant worker. Symbols used throughout the novel was the barn as a figure to represent a church, Petra’s statue of Jesus that symbolized her faith in Christianity and the baby doll with no mouth that represented the views on silence. The author uses symbolism to get her message across on how the difficulties of migrant workers. The Prophet Muhammad in Life of Pi The Prophet Muhammad is a very important figure in Islam faith. Muhammad was said to have received messages from God for around 23 years. These messages were compiled into what is known as the Quran, the central religious text of Islam. In your post you discussed how in other pieces of art during the Renaissance era were primarily focused on looking more natural and realistic; however, in Mannerism that is not the case due to it being something new and different. When I look at the statue and I read the Wikipedia description, I realize the full statue was huge. The police officer who shot Mike Brown was recorded as saying Mike Brown appeared like a "super human" to him. Mike Brown was big, but not as big as this statue yet the police officer stated he feared for his life.
According to Harris (2014), John’s depiction of Jesus is an embodiment of heavenly wisdom and his message centers on his on divine nature. Jesus reveals unknowable truths about God’s being and purpose, and is depicted as the human form of God’s celestial world. John also does not characterize Jesus’ crucifixion in the same way as Mark. In John, the crucifixion was a glorification that frees Jesus to go to heaven, not a humiliating experience. John also does not contain any prophecies of the second coming like in other Gospels.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ was and is a miraculous, horrible, and amazing thing all in one. Jesus was created by God, His father, and placed into Mary’s womb to be born as a sinless man. From the time that Jesus was placed in Mary, God knew His plan for Jesus and what He would have to do one day. God knew when he spoke man into existence that we would be sinless creatures in need of an almighty Savior.
