“Leave him alone!” Pixie shouted above the thunderous booms of Jethro and the high pitched squeals of his sister. Somehow in the scuffle Pixie managed to get herself between Jethro and Violet. He was on his back on the floor and Pixie was lying on top of him, the other way around, with her back on his stomach. Her little face looking up at Violet in pure defiance. The room went ominously silent as Violet looked down at the brother she had tormented for four centuries, the brother who had been her lifelong victim for her own wicked amusement.
