Joan of Arc was born on January 6, 1412. Her parents were peasants and they lived in Domremy, France. At a young age Saints Michael, Catherine, and Margaret talked to her mostly about personal messages. But when she turned 13 the messages took on a new meaning. They told her that she had to drive the English out of France. But it wasn't until she was 16 that she did anything about it. Then she petitioned Robert de Baudricourt, a general, to visit the Royal Court. Even though he gave Joan a joking response, she came to the Royal Court until she was forced home. Later, she came to the battlegrounds before a message was written about the battle, so Robert de Baudricourt was inclined to believe it was in fact divine intervention and was forced to allow her onto the army. Throughout her years her family was ennobled and she became a general who lead her army into many successful battles. She became basically a legend for France, a war hero. She did many important things for her country using her many virtues, holy and not holy. Three of her most prominent virtues were her devotion to God, her faith, and her charity to others. She proved her devotion to God when she went into war even though she did not want to. Another time she proved her devotion to God was when she refused to even say that her quest was not holy, which caused her death. Joan of Arc proved her faith when she was worried about going off to war, but she had faith in God. I doubt many 16-year-old girls would join the army just because they had faith in God. Finally, she showed her charity by even going out to war to help others even though it ended in her death. Joan of Arc was a very brave Patron
