He employs a reminiscent tone to appeal to the emotions of the readers, making them, too, yearn to relive their childhood days of family car rides. Louv writes, “In our useful boredom, we used our fingers to draw pictures on fogged glass as we watched the telephone poles tick by. We saw birds on the wires and combines in the fields” (lines 62-65). This imagery paints a picture of the nature one sees as a child and helps the reader relive the experience. Louv ends the piece with the statement, “We considered the past and dreamed of the future, and watched it all go by in the blink of an eye” (lines 71-73).

Vagrant Hills shares the same dark take on suburban life these books have. Tim Marlin is an aspiring journalist thrown into an investigation he is not prepared for nor ready for the consequences it would have on his life, much like the protagonist of Caught Wendy. Vagrant Hills is a small suburban town that seems to have many secrets. Even when the town is united and standing together, everyone seems to have their own agenda and loyalty only seems paper thin.
The House on Mango Street is set in a poor, primarily Hispanic neighborhood. Author Sandra Cisneros creates an atypical, yet easily digestible world for the reader to experience while learning about Esperanza’s childhood. The culture of her environment influences Esperanza’s development as she becomes a young woman, and contributes to the book’s driving theme of self-empowerment. Mango Street is the source of Esperanza’s growth through her childhood, and it hides sadness and longing underneath stereotypes of Hispanic people. The characters that live in the broken-down neighborhood all seem to represent pigeonholed views of Latino individuals.

This scene captures Travis’s psychotic disassociation from himself, he has undergone a complete split where his thoughts now become reality, a normal person of sound mind is able to separate their thoughts from reality. Travis’s violent thoughts, paranoia, alienation, isolation combine in a tremendous force that sends Travis over the edge. Travis’s apartment with the metal bars and shredded telephone wires symbolizes and represents a metaphor that Travis is in a sense the creator of his own alienation and disconnectedness from himself and
Just as Sontag emphasises in her essay, photography is useful tool that captures the memories, defenses against anxiety, and brings familiarity. In additional, personally I also believe that photos can empower the world by sharing

In this particular circumstance, I believe Carter acted accordingly and any other photographer in his position would have acted this way. Body: Kevin Carter began his career in photography as a freelance for The Sunday Express, which was a tabloid (2). Many Literary elements where used in this short story. For example, the narrator uses setting and imagery to portray his thoughts on the early 1900s and how corrupt it really was. “The Street” was mentioned many times in this short story. It gives off the effect of irony. He shows that much of the newer generations is more reckless and careless when it came to there

In 2010, renowned street artist Banksy, whose real identity is unknown, transformed a No Trespassing sign and typical graffiti into a powerful political message rife with symbolism reminding the audience of the historical struggle of the American Indian. As is typical of Banksy’s work, he incorporated the preexisting surroundings into his street art. In fact, several of his other San Francisco
