Throughout centuries the world has come across many influential people. These four individuals fit this description: Johannes Kepler, Pope Urban the Second, Augustus Caesar, and Harriet Beecher Stow. Specifically, they each possessed the goals that would shape the world around them. Four people who at first glance may not have much in common, evidently, share what makes them so influential, which was the drive to achieve their goals. The first person that has the characteristic of drive is Johannes Kepler. He was born on December 27th, 1572 in Weil der Stadt, Wurttemburg Holy Roman Empire. The famous astronomer is most known for his discovery of the Law of Planetary Motion. As result of his discovery, he influenced future scientists and their studies. Pope Urban was born in Odo of Lagery in 1042. He is best known as the man who initiated the crusades which lasted from 1096 through 1099. Before he was pronounced Pope, he was the bishop of Ostia going by the name Eudes. During his time as pope he shared the same mind set as Pope Gregory the Seventh, which was that the church should not be selling its offices. With the threat that the Turks would invade the Byzantine Empire; after they had taken the holy city, Pope Urban set his goal on over taking the Turks. In order to inspire the people to bear arms, he would give what would be known as the most influential speech ever gave during the Middle Ages. He stated that those who would fight in the war and reclaim the Holy City were promised all their sins would be forgiven. His situation about inspiring people also relates to someone that would come much later in time. Her name is Harriet Beecher Stow, and like Pope Urban, she tried to inspire people to open their eyes to the realization that slavery is awful.
