Newton’s first step was to prove the three laws of motion that had been studied by Galileo years later. One of the laws he eventually proved included the law that a body at rest tends to stay at rest; a body in motion tends to stay in motion unless compelled to change by an applied force (Louviere, 1). Newton’s second law that he proved was that acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass; the greater the mass of the object being accelerated, the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object.

Galileo made many discoveries with his telescope that were significant to science during the Renaissance. To view the solar system, Galileo made a telescope on his own. He had heard of the invention from a Dutch eyeglass maker, and improved his design.
On top of it all, he came to the discovery of the color spectrum. he placed a glass prism in front of a beam of light projected through a tiny hole in a window shade casting the spectrum onto a wall.
