John Dalberg Acton's Animal Farm

“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” This quote by John-Dalberg Acton is a prediction about anyone who will rise to power at some point in their life. It also correlates how many might act just like the pigs in Animal Farm by becoming corrupted with power in one way or another. The pigs had these great ideas, but failed themselves by being too prideful, hypocritical, and greedy. The pigs were always very prideful… bragging and taking credit for everything. They took credit for the windmills even though they did not work on them as it was mainly boxer. They praised themselves over how much "smarter" they are than the other animals. In reality, they are no better, nor smarter, than the other animals on the farm.
