John Dewey was born on October 20, 1959 in Burlington, Vermont, was a twentieth century American “philosopher, psychologist, and educational reformer” (John Dewey). Dewey preached the idea of pragmatism, which rejected customary perspectives of epistemology and mysticism. Pragmatism “considers practical consequences or real effects to be vital components of both meaning and truth” (Pragmatism).
