John F. Kennedy, also known as JFK, is perhaps the most-loved president in American history. Our 35th President of the United States served from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963. Although he was young and did not get to serve his full term he accomplished many great things. All these documents embody the beginning of an admirable presidency and the commencement of a new hope for a nation gone forlorn. Facing economic downfall, the possibility of another war and the after effects of an old one, John F. Kennedy provided a breath of fresh air. Carrying with him a light, that attracted people to him and a newfound hope that was hard to find, Kennedy won the people over with his short and simple inaugural address that would be remembered for years to come. In my opinion, I think John F. Kennedy was the best president that has been in office, even if he was only in it for a little more than 3 years. He came from a wealthy catholic family from Massachusetts, and came into office in 1960. One of the first things he did was strengthen the economy and created the New Deal strategy of deficit spending, first implemented during Franklin Roosevelt's presidency. He also convinced Congress to increase the minimum hourly wage to $1.25, and provided more than $400 million in aid distressed areas under the Area Redevelopment Act.

Germany was a major contributor to the Arms Race, which caused harsh tensions between many European countries. The Arms race was a naval rivalry between the British and German navies.
