Thomas Paine wrote a series of articles known collectively as "The Crisis" to support his argument for independence from England during the Revolutionary War. Thomas Paine 's reasoning for writing this collection of articles is rather sound. The call to arms in this document calls “tens of thousands” to arms to battle Great Britain and their unfair rule over their country. Paine was justified in his writing, the unfair rule of the British government did need to be “called out” sort of speak.

Thomas Paines document No. 1 gained a lot of attention in the late 1700’s and is still read widely across the world. Thomas was a founding father, but he also was a political figure. He got most of his fame from writing documents about the issues in the U.S during that time. His series of documents was called “The American crisis” and it was broken up into 16 pamphlets and the most famous one was crisis No. 1.
Written by Aldous Huxley in 1931 soon after World War l, Brave New World is seen as a prophetic book that defined the coming century. Inspired by the H.G. Well’s utopian novels, Brave New World chronicled the lives of three people, Bernard, John, and Lenina. Alfred Thodey of Camberwell told the Customs Minister of the “crimes committed in thy name” because banning the book was an “unwarrantable interference.” Brave New World presents inevitable problems the world must face in order to keep a society that places trust in the people rather than in a harsh government.

Some very substantial accusations were made against John proctor and this quiet, peaceful farmer is starting to appear to be more devious and menacing than originally believed. In The Legacy, Basil Davidson discusses the legacies of colonialism in Africa and gives an insight on modern Africa and the successes and downfalls that it possesses. Moreover, he states that many of the issues seen in modern day Africa are not new and have their roots in the long years of European colonialism that profoundly shaped and continues to shape the continent. Throughout the documentary, various themes regarding postcolonial Africa are mentioned in depth. A few of the themes that Davidson highlights are modernization, ethnicism, corruption, inequality, dictatorship, and neocolonialism.
Ashleigh Murphy 9/26/16 English 3A Ms. Abriani Research Project Thomas Paine 's essays Common Sense and The Crisis are two pieces of literature that relate to the common people, and with it’s message helped instill hope in those unsure of what the outcome for their country, their families, and their freedom would be. These writings have inspired everyone and anyone willing to read it because his literature pieces appealed to all who were interested. No man was superior to another when it came to these essays, because everyone was capable of understanding them. The main points of these writings reflected the main problems between British and American Independence, and his goals were to unify America as one nation.
Finally, the quality of counterargument expressed throughout Garretson’s essay, has also been effected by her biased stance on vegetarianism, because she has been unable to display and acknowledge opposing views in her piece. It is very important for one to present counterarguments in their writing because it shows that the writer is not narrow-minded, and instead, is fair by considering other perspectives. Additionally, the use of counterargument adds credibility to a writing and makes the arguments that one presents more believable and trustworthy. Since Garretson does not display or acknowledge any opposing views in her essay, her arguments lose a great deal of credibility. There are many different approaches that Garretson could have taken
Americans had a very hard time breaking ties with England and becoming their own nation. Thomas Paine played a very important role in the liberty of American history. His pamphlet “Common Sense” laid down the foundation for the complete freedom of America, granted in 1776. He argued for two main points: independence from England and the creation of a democratic republic. Paine had many effective and influential arguments in his pamphlet Common Sense, but the three most important were that the colonies should have freedom, balance, and equality.
The early 20th century had a remarkable impact on human kind, creating ripples in the continuum of history that are still felt in modern times. The biggest and by far the most remarkable event was World War 1. It's main trigger being the assassination of Archduke Franz the war began tragic and tense. In an attempt to prevent Germany from becoming too powerful, other European joined powers for what was to be an exhausting and long battle of attrition. The war was essentially a huge chain of events, tracing back to the Franco-Prussian War and the actions of important people like Otto Von Bismarck.

James Madison was a Democratic-Republican in the fact that he supported states’ rights, a strict interpretation of the constitution, and freedom to speech and press. James Madison thoroughly supported states rights. During his writing of the Bill of Rights, Madison added the last amendment to emphasis the powers states possessed.
Although hormones, cortisol and adrenaline, having the capacity of allowing an individual to flee a threatening situation, repeated distribution can alter the way the body works. When someone is continuously stressed the brain will continue to release cortisol, which can decrease the numbers of brain cells that contribute in repairing memories. Cortisol also has the effect of increasing blood pressure, a condition common in underserved communities. Communities that lack resources are likely to be subject to stress because of the lifestyle that is promoted by the American Dream. The American Dream is one that encourages the thought of natural selection, Social Darwinism, that dates back to the early 19th century when the foundation of this country was being founded.
Most people have their own duty such as work hard in the workplace or take care of their families. People think that if they show responsibility to contribute to countries, countries will be progress. However, when people concentrate on their jobs, they might forget to take care of themselves. Some people find a way to relax, in addition to working hard. Otherwise, some people have no choice in reducing stress from their whole lives.
3. Review of literature 3.1 Stress and its types: Stress is an essential mediator of human behaviour. Immediate physiological response to any type of stressor facilitates survival of the species at its maximum. Despite of normal homeostatic regulatory mechanism, the stress responses can become maladaptive. Chronic stress, for example immobilization, exposure to noise, irradiations, psychological stress can leads to a host of adverse health consequences, including cardiovascular diseases, neurodegeneration, obesity, depression and early ageing (McEwen et al, 2004).
