John Lennon was a famous musician in a period for Americans where war and violence stained the streets, wallets, and mindsets of all in the country. In the 1960s, “war” had become a household word, and “peace” had become a fantasy. People were scared, mad, and hopeless. Then, like a super hero, The Beatles gave hope. They took people to an unknown land; one filled with greener grass, big smiles, and happier people. They did all of this in 3 minutes through a record. At the comfort of your home. Lennon would transport you to a Wonderland, and the say “Stand up to ‘the man’ and make a reality.” He silently fight for the minds of others, and almost commanded a revolt, saying “You say you want a ‘Revolution’, well, you know, we all want to change the world.” The message was delivered to a quarter of a million people: fight for peace. John Winston Lennon, a British citizen born October 9th, 1940, was a singer and composer for the international rock band The Beatles. John was a father of 2 and married twice. Lennon was a communist, and disregarded the belief of possession. Lennon married Yoko Ono, a musician, who he would later have a kid with: Julian. One of the most famous examples is his mention of The Beatles being “More popular than Jesus Christ.” Another example of his controversial acts is his habit to take naked photos of him and his wife Yoko Ono. Also, he was called out for playing his song “Imagine,” a song about equality, on a million dollar piano. This turned a few heads, as names like “hypocrite” were thrown at him.
