John Winthrop talks about how everybody in the community is equal no matter how rich or poor they are. “For hence it appears plainly that no man is made more honorable than another or more wealthy, etc., out of any particular and singular respect to himself, but for the glory of his Creator and the common good of the creature, man”. This particular community believes in God on a higher level. People in the community believe that you should show respect at all time and you should love everyone as an equal. “The law of grace or the Gospel hath some difference from the former, as in these respects: First, the law of nature was given to man in the estate of innocency; this of the Gospel in the estate of regeneracy”. John Winthrop is saying in the reading that love should be spreaded among others, no matter who the person may be. “Thirdly, the law of nature could give no rules for dealing with enemies, for all are to be considered as friends in the state of innoceny, but the Gospel commands love to an
