What is success? Success is something that changes from one person to the other. Each person’s definition of success is different from the next person’s. It all depends on what that person values most in life, and what their long-term goals are. Basketball coach John wooden described success as "Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming,"(Wooden). Wooden who is one of the most well-known basketball coaches in history. His definition is about competing with yourself more than anyone else. To me success is doing the best you can and reaching the goals in life that you want. Many of my friends see success as making the most money in life, and I do not see anything wrong with that. That is just not how I look at success. A college graduate is not more successful because he makes $100,000 instead of his classmate that only makes $50,000. However, some people do see you as more successful if you make more money than your peers. One measure of success is how cheerful a person is. For some people, they might feel their happiest when they have luxurious items. However, this is not true for everyone and consequently not a true measure of success.
