The influence of one person passed on to another is inevitable when it comes to life, but even more unavoidable when it extends to sports. College sports in fact have an impact on a mass majority of people, from spectators to players, these endeavors create hopes and dreams for any individual. Not only that, any heart strung story coming from sports gets plastered on media outlets so a greater population of people can also be influenced by a game, but I want to go further than that. Personally, I believe there is a greater meaning behind sports than for it just to be a pastime. His resolve and success in the face of contempt, bigotry, and harassment serves as an eternal example for students like myself who seek to

Similar to Frost, the men’s basketball coach at St. Anthony’s High School, Robert Hurley, has taken the road less traveled by declining many professional coaching opportunities in order to remain a leader in his Jersey City Community. Hurley’s love for basketball and coaching began at the age thirteen years old when he was recruited to join a youth basketball league in his hometown, Jersey City. Despite his young age, Hurley learned how to lead by the example of this youth coach, Charlie Shaughnessy, who taught Hurley how to care for his protégés.
