The Innocence Project Darryl Hunt was a 19 year-old African American male living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was wrongfully convicted of the murder of Deborah Sykes, a 25-year-old copy editor at a local newspaper. Many eyewitness misidentifications, incorrect information, and unjust actions resulted in Darryl Hunt spending 19 years of his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Deborah Sykes was sexually assaulted and murdered on August 10, 1984. A call was made to alert the police of a body and the name given by the caller was Sammy Mitchell, a friend of Darryl Hunt.
Just before you knew it Johnny was gone forever. In The Outsiders a novel by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy Curtis finds out the news about Johnny. Johnny is one of the Greasers favorite members, but everything goes wrong after he kills Bob, who is a Socs. The Greasers then decide to run far away so the cops won't get the Greasers for killing Bob. But then horror strikes when they see the church on fire with kids inside, so Johnny and the gang run inside to try to save the kids, but Johnny doesn't make it and passes away later on.

The Murder Case Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I am here to question Johnny Cade’s innocence. About a week ago, Johnny Cade and his compatriot, Ponyboy Curtis, were strolling along the local park. According to Curtis, he and Johnny witnessed a vehicle stop on the outskirts of the park. Afterward, a bunch of these so-called “Socs,” all under the influence, approached the duo. Their small dispute quickly escalated physically, and one Soc assaulted Curtis and began drowning him in the park’s fountain.
Johnny Cade, one of the members of the Greasers was born on March 1st, 1949 and sadly passed away in the year of 1965. The cause of his death was he went in a burning church and was burned and a broken back. One of his accomplishments was him saving the children. Johnny died from the cause of him saving children from a burning church. Dally was proud of him because he did a hero.

A gang each has different personality that sets them apart. Whether it is the color or symbol of the gang that tells other people who they are they all do something bad to keep their reputation. Johnny comes from a troubled background, and his innocence has long been compromised by abuse and neglect. However, it is through the tragic events that Johnny experiences alongside Ponyboy that his loss of innocence becomes evident. After being forced to take a life in self-defense, Johnny confesses, "I killed him... I killed that boy" (Hinton, 56). This moment marks a turning point in Johnny's character arc, as he grapples with guilt and the irreversible consequences of his actions.
A clear sign of the gangs influence on Johnny was when he decided to prevent the Soc’s from drowning Ponyboy and defending himself instead of letting the Socs beat them up and have them possibly drown Ponyboy. More specifically, after finally fighting back and killing Bob, he says to Ponyboy “‘I killed him’ he said slowly. ‘I killed that boy”’(Hinton 56). Here the author is explaining how shocked Johnny was once he killed the Soc.
Johnny, the second youngest Greaser, gets jumped by Socs, and has feared them since the incident. Johnny, the loyal gang member, gets described as the gang 's pet. Yet, he still believed in doing the right thing and was the most law-abiding kid in the group. For example, one

The greasers do everything they can do to defend their buddies. The gang made sacrifice after sacrifice to protect their loved ones. Even biological family members wouldn't make some of the sacrifices they made. Not a lot of people today

Johnny was a dynamic character, he contributed a lot to the main theme. Johnny had bad parents and committed murder. Soon after his bad acts, he became a hero.
