Jonathan Swift, an Anglo-Irish Satirist and Poet living in Great Britain at the time of the early 1700s, was disgusted and repulsed by the rules Britain enforced on The Irish, for example, in 1720 Britain passed a parliament stating that Britain had the bow to bind Ireland with laws it chooses such as the Penal Laws.
