Jonathan Wayne Nobles was not truly rehabilitated. Some individuals thought him to be rehabilitated, but others saw through his bogusness. From the examples that will be given; they will show how Nobles was just “faking it, to make it”. His actions, religion, and attitude show it all.
First, Jonathan W. Nobles was sentenced to death row. His crime? He had murdered two people in cold blood. Now, he is in prison awaiting his punishment. In prison, he starts out aggressive, violent, and out of control to get attention. A man can only go for so long without social interaction. According to (the Student Room), a person usually can only go about 2 to 3 weeks before they realize that they can’t handle being alone. He went as far as, to cut himself with razors; so a prison guard would come into his room. His desire was to explode upon one prison officer before he would pass out. The practice of Catholicism is a doctrine and practice which are generally regarded as Catholic rather than Protestant or Eastern Orthodox. He saw that the Dominican Order of Preachers were able to roam free through the prison, as long as they were spreading their religious messages. Noble’s saw this as a way to get out of his cell and roam free with other prisoners. So, Nobles decided to join the Dominican Order of Preachers. However, it takes years to become one; and he had so little time left. The Order made an exception for him which allowed him to join faster; since his time on earth was so limited. When he assumes his role in the ‘Order’, he acts like he’s a big shot and thinks he’s the top dog. He even goes so far, as to try and convince Steve Earle to bring his son, Justin, to the prison to talk with him.
