A colonizer and statesman, Manuel Lorenzo Justiniano de Zavala was one of the most talented and capable of the many native Mexicans involved in Texas ' struggle for independence from Mexico. He was born in the villiage of Tecoh in what is now the state of Yucatan, Mexico, on October 3, 1789. While still in his teens, de Zavala became an ardent advocate of democratic reforms. As a result of his political activism, he was imprisoned in 1814 for three years. When released, he re-entered politics and by 1820 represented Yucatan in the Spanish Cortes in Madrid.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernández was born on June 1, 1988 in Guadalajara, Mexico, to Silvia Balcazar and Javier Hernández. He was inspired to play soccer because he was born into a family where both his father and grandfather were professional soccer players. Chicharito is currently not married and still playing soccer. When Chicharito was 9 years old he began his career of soccer at the C.D. Guadalajara Youth Soccer Academy. At the academy, young Chicharito played against youth soccer teams and proved to be exceptional at it.
Ramon Betances was a politician, born on April 8, 1827, in Cabo Rojo. He received his primary and secondary education in private schools. His mother died when he was young and his father sent him to France. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Paris in 1855, Ramon Betances returned to Puerto Rico and founded a hospital. He worked to save Puerto Ricans from the cholera epidemic.
September 16,1810 Miguel Hidalgo Y Costilla helped mexicans to fight back against the spanish government known as “Grito de Dolores” that ended 300 years of colonial rule. Mexico fell into Spanish hands in 1521 when Hernan Cortes and his army of conquistadors toppled the Aztec empire under order of king Charles V Cortes founded capital city -Ciudad de México. Hidalgo led his growing militia from village to village in route to Mexico city, leaving in their wake a bloodbath that he came later to regret . Defeated at Calderon in January 1811 , Hidalgo fled north but was captured and executed by a firing squad in Chihuahua.
The acquittal of Jeronimo Yanez sparked protests from thousands of people in the St. Paul area. Yanez, a police officer, shot and killed an African-American man, Philando Castle last July. Yanez faced the charge manslaughter among other offences. Yanez cleared of all charges

Has a relative of yours ever been affected by a historical event? I sat down with my father for about an hour, and I came to find out that his life is a lot more interesting than I thought. My father has a habit of locking everything in the house even if we’re home.
“ El Senor De Los Cielos” as many may know Amado Carrillo Fuentes. He was known as the Lord of the Skies because of his method of transporting drugs. He would transport drugs using jets all around the world. He was in charge of the Juarez Cartel for just a couple months, but in the short amount of time he got control of this cartel he was becoming more powerful. Amado wanted to become more in life.
Juana Barraza is a serial killer in Mexico. She was born on December 27, 1958 in Hidalgo, Mexico. As a child she had a thought life. Her mother Justa Samperio an alcoholic woman would exchange her to a man called Jose Lugo for a couple of beer. Barraza was sexually abuse; as a result she became a mother at the age of 13.
Spain conquered Peru in 1533 through the exploits of Francisco Pizarro with an army of only 180 men. Pizarro’s military strategy was assisted by simple deceitfulness. Before the Spanish arrived, a devastating war of succession gripped the empire. In 1532, Atahuallpa’s army defeated the forces of his half-brother Huascar in a battle near Cuzco. Pizarro invited Atahuallpa to attend a feast in his honor, and the emperor accepted.
Ever heard of somebody who was claimed as a murder for three hundred people? If not, then you are going to hear about it now and be well aware of who he is . Pedro Alonso Lopez, also known as Monster of the Andes, was a colombian serial killer who was sentenced for killing eighty girls, but he claimed he murded and rapped about three hundred. Pedro Lopez was known for raping girls around his country then moved to Peru and Ecuador and all around. Pedros dad died when Benilda; his mother, was three months pregnant with her son at the time of his father's death.
Lester Iradell Horton was born in Indianapolis, India on January 23,1906. Not very much was known about his early life. Horton studied ballet for two years with a local teacher in Indianapolis. He was also taking classes at Herron Art Institute and worked with the Indianapolis Theater. Not very long after he began to work for sculptress Kathleen Stuberg.
Nijinsky parents were his first teachers and taught him the basics of ballet. Nijinsky got his first taste of the stage at the age of just seven, where he made his professional debut as a chimney sweep in a comedic circus dance performance. After moving to St Petersburg with his family at the age of nine, Nijinsky auditioned for and was one of the fifteen boys accepted into the prestigious Imperial Theatrical School, a school of classical ballet that has since been renamed, The Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. Discipline was relentless, but drive and love of the dance flourished among students, making this the perfect place for a young, indefatigable Vaslav Nijinsky. He was a substandard student academically.

As a painter and sculpture maker, Edgar Degas had a passion for art. From dropping out of two colleges, to simply watching people dance for drawing purposes, Edgar Degas purpose was to create art. Out of all of Degas’s paintings and sculptures, Degas is mainly known as a person who painted dancers, in particular ballet dancers. When looking at Edgar Degas’s paintings, one that popped out especially, and one that touched all the bases that Edgar Degas focused in all of his paintings was the painting with the title The Ballet Class. The painting consists of the vague theme, the way he experimented with items that were not used then (or he personally used), the historical context is more within his personal life over what’s going on in the world,
One of the most compelling aspects that I encountered during my admissions process to BU was the profound and intellectually stimulating environment on campus, sustained through deep and meaningful explorations of fundamental human principles.
