Tyler Rico 5/9/17 Section 2 DBQ Essay During the times leading up the 1500s Christianity and Islam both had different views on merchants and their craft with people from both faiths having varying degrees of opinions on it. Trade increased dramatically after the Mongols came into power and secured the Silk Roads making trade a lot more profitable and a lot less dangerous. This made the issue of trading come to light even more as it became more prevalent in people's everyday life. After the fall of the Mongols western nations raced to find new ways around the Silk Road as they did not want to trade through Muslim controlled land.

The religions of Christianity and Islam have very similar beliefs, but they also have a lot of differences, which make each religion distinctive from each other. Also, the Christian and Muslim merchants attitude changed over the thousands of years to match each other or go completely in the opposite way. Within the time period c. 600 CE to 1250 CE and 1st century to 1000 CE Islam and Christianity began to spread around the world. The two religions spread socially and economically similar but politically different.

Each has their holy scripture and a holy language. Christianity’s one deity is called God, its holy scripture is called the Bible, and its holy language is Latin. Islam’s one deity is named Allah, its holy scripture is called the Qur’an, and its holy language is Arabic.

In the Christian belief, the Bible is a book of sacred text regarded with divine inspiration and authority which was compiled in ancient times, containing scriptures from the New and Old Testament. As the Bible was transcribed in a different era with contrasting perspectives and morals to those of current times, when analysing the scriptures containing Abraham, it can be interpreted that they do not hold relevance today. Conversely, Abraham does provide an unyielding foundations for spiritual guidance and some interpretations of relevant gender roles. By understanding the four functions; ritual use, gender roles, spiritual guidance, and moral/ ethical justification, and applying it a contemporary believer of Christianity, Abraham can be interpreted as either relevant or irrelevant depending on the function.
Christianity Judaism, Islam are different religions but they are so much alike. the three religions have basically the same concept but they have different ways of teaching. The three religion all believe in God. For Judaism Moses is the true messager of Allah. Islam believes in Muhamond the prophet and christian believe in Jesus , Christ.
Christianity and Islam share many similarities with a few fundamental differences. Both religions follow monotheism, though in Islam it is much stricter. Jesus and Gabriel are focal points for Christianity and Islam respectively. God and Allah stand for the same higher power and basis for religion. In Islam, the five pillars are the main difference just as Mary is the mother of Jesus and the beginning of the Christian religions teachings.
Both denominations come from the same basic Jewish roots. Although they interpret the Torah differently, they both read from the same text and believe the Torah was the revelation that Moses received from God when he was at the top of Mount Sinai. The majority of holidays and major celebrations are also shared between both forms of Judaism. For example, they both celebrate the Sabbath weekly expect for the Orthodox it is on Saturday and for the Reform it has been moved to Sunday. Therefore, these similarities help show that both of these forms of Judaism essential came from the same roots and background.
Christianity and Judaism are both monotheistic religions that share many similarities. Both religions were found in present day Israel and share a common writing. They shared the same Ten Commandments; Torah for the Jews and the Old Testaments for the Christians. Even though they are common in many different ways, they are also very different. Their marriage rites, rituals and the meaning of life are different.
Judaism was founded by Abraham, Isaac, and Moses, and it is the original Abrahamic religion. There are around 14 million followers of Judaism today, and these people are called Jews. Judaism is a monotheistic religion, Jews believe that there is only one God. They believe that God created the universe and continue to effect everything in the world. They believe that every Jew can have a personal relationship with God.
