Famous chef: Julia Child
Julia Child was a Chef, Television personality and Author, she is most know for bringing the French cuisine to the public with her books and television program on PBS and being one of the first women to cook on television and out of the home kitchen. Julia Child I belive truly changed the way cooking was looked at and made it enjoyable to do and watch.
Julia was born in California, her family mostly all cooks yet she didn’t enjoy cooking, standing at a whole 6 foot 2 inches she ended up doing a lot of sports up until she graduated high school. Once Julia graduated from high school she joined the OSS and was later transferred to China where she met her husband Paul an OSS employee as well, the two were married and moved to Washington D.C., Paul was known for his sophisticated palate and introduced Julia to the finer things in dinning. Paul later joined the united states foreign service and they moved to Paris, there Julia got to experience her first meal, she called it a culinary revelation and often recalled on it saying it was “opening up of the soul and

Julia’s use of ingredients such as butter and cream had food critics and nutritionists questioning her, she addressed these by stating that she would predict a “fanatical fear of food” could take over the countries dining habits and that focusing on the nutrients would take away from the pleasure of enjoying the food and in one interview Julia even stated that "Everybody is overreacting. If fear of food continues, it will be the death of dining in the United States. The French don't suffer from the same hysteria we do. We should enjoy food and have fun. It’s one of the nicest and simplest pleasures in life." Which could still be true
