Julieta was born in Tijuana, Mexico. She is currently lives few miles from the Mexico-United States border. She recently turned 15 years old and is in her sophomore year of high school. Julieta is fully bilingual in both English and Spanish. She has olive skin, hazel eyes, and has naturally curly brown hair. Julieta is an overall healthy adolescent; she has an average build, 5 feet 7 inches in height, and slightly overweight. The whereabouts of her family of origin are unknown as her biological mother gave her up for adoption immediately at birth. She was adopted at birth by a childless married couple. She grew up as the only child and when she turned 12, until her parents divorced. When she reflected on any regrets she had in the past, she indicated that her biggest regret was being rude and disrespectful to her father. Looking back, she said that she should not have said certain things to him. By her self-report, the relationship between her and her mother have improved in the last couple of years. Julieta thinks that her mother would describe her as disrespectful at times, however she would likely also note that her daughter is loving and caring. She reflected that she should also be more respectful towards her mother; especially when she is asked to do chores around the house. If she is unable to resolve a conflict with a friends, she says that she is able to approach her mother for help. She shared that her mother is the most disciplinarian between her two parents. She says that her mother will first sit with her and talk to her about the presenting issue, her mother also resorts to taking away her personal belongings. Common chores in the home include washing dishes, clean the common area and her sleeping
