Good and Bad parts of the Brothers of Karamazov
Who does not love a good gossip and murderous book? The Brothers of Karamazov has both gossip and murder in it, and that is what kept my attention. The book had good parts but it also had some bad parts. Some of the good parts were the length, part three and some bad parts were confusing characters, length of the book, and old unused language.
The first reason this book is not favorable because of the odd use of language. This book is written in 1880 by a Russian man. Because of this language it is very hard to understand and hard to follow many times I would have to reread sections of the books to soak in what he was trying to say. Each character has a nickname but both the nickname and the actual name are sometimes hard to pronounce. When a name is hard to pronounce to me I usually just skip over the name and try to keep going, which in-turn confuses me when I do not know who the book is talking about. Each character has a very long back story and each of them are very different. Mitcha was Katerina’s fiancés but yet he does not want her so he decides to go for Grushanka.
