Kason Bennefield A Rabbit’s Riddle Once upon a time, there was a rabbit, and his name was Tim. He lived in his rabbit hole in the middle of a green valley. He had many friends that lived nearby. Tim was a small rabbit. He was also very smart. So, he could usually think his way out of difficult situations that he couldn't solve with muscle. He was having a normal week finding food, coming back home and resting. One day, he came upon a problem that he couldn't solve without help. “What can I do to solve this riddle?” Tim said. So, rabbit headed back home to pack for the journey. As he sets off, he doesn’t encounter anyone. It's a open road. On the way there, he finds food and places to nap. He finally reaches the meadow. He sees a huge mound of dirt. He goes inside and sees that it’s Grasshopper’s home. He knocks on the door. “Hello, Grasshopper are you there?” Tim said. There was no reply. Tim started to get worried, and he walked inside and saw that Toad and Grasshopper had fallen asleep on the couch watching the Geography Channel. He thought it would be funny if he woke them up by scaring them. Then, he and Toad could head back home while they talked about the password. So, he started his plan. He moved behind the couch and yelled at the top of his lungs. “Ahhhhhh what is that!” Toad and Grasshopper both screamed. Tim comes out from behind the couch and laughs so hard his stomach started to hurt. He couldn't control his laughter. “You guys never saw it coming,” he said while he was laughing. Toad and Grasshopper started to laugh with him. How can I help you all?” Owl replied. As Tim started to ask his question, he remembered that it was his birthday. Then, he remembered something very important. His code for his safe was his birthdate. “I’m so silly,” said Tim, “my birthday is today, and that reminded me that I use my birthday for my code.” All of his friends laughed at his mistake. They decided that since they were all together anyway that they should have a birthday party for Tim. They all headed to Tim’s home to get ready for the party. First, they opened the safe. Then, they used the tools to get his house ready. Finally, they made all the food for party including a cake. Tim was thankful that his friends weren’t mad at him for having them come all the way over to his house for no reason. “My friends, I don’t know what I would do without all of you. You are always ready to help out a friend, and I hope that you will always call me if you ever need anything.” They had a party for Tim’s birthday the rest of the day. When it was over, his friends headed home. “Tim, I hope you had a good birthday,” they all said. Tim headed off to bed. He was exhausted because he hadn’t slept since this whole problem started. He cleaned up his house and put all his tools away. He laughed as he drifted off to
