This essay started out with me being a little bit puzzled and after reading all of the short stories that were assigned for reading because all of these stories are great in their own way. When I read a story weather it is a short story or a novel I have to be able to get into the story to keep my attention so that I can finish the story or book that I started. When I read Kate Chopin’s The Story of an Hour I transformed myself into the story and placed myself in Louise’s shoes and what if someone told me that my wife was dead, and I took a minute to process all of the information and then she walked through the door and I died. When Louise is fine with the fact that the upcoming years being alone because she was free we do not know what went on before this event took place but I do not think it was something to good. But when Josephine came to the door Louise did not want to talk to her and kept trying to get her to go away but she refused. With Josephine and Richards inside the house they did not know who was unlocking the front door and it turned out to be her husband who was very much alive and was far away from the scene of the accident that he was to be dead in.
