In the excerpt “Under the Eye of the Clock” by Christopher Nolan, talks about the paralyzed boy joseph who is overwhelming with muscle pains. The excerpt develops an idea that tell us that no matter what the situation is, there is always hope. According to text, “Typing festered hope” (line 20). The author of the excerpt, means to tell us that you should never think that, you will not able to do anything, since you are paralyzed; there is always hope and you should wait for right time to come. In addition to that, author also says “great spasms gripped him rigid and sent his simple nod into a farcical effort which ran to each and every one of his limbs” (line 24 and 25).

Some of the southern motivations were indentured servants which wanted a new chance. Then there was tobacco which basically turned into a way to get money!
In the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, the major thematic idea that my project is focusing on is man versus machine because it represents how Chief Bromden views society and the ward as. In the beginning of the book, Chief describes how he perceives the ward by saying “the ward is a factory for the Combine. It’s for fixing up mistakes made in the neighborhoods and in the schools and in the churches, the hospital is. When a completed product goes back out into society, all fixed up good as new, better than new sometimes, it brings joy to the Big Nurse’s heart”(31). Basically, Bromden believes that everything is ran by the Combine.
The incorporation of religious themes into Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest depicts McMurphy as a Christ figure, serving to protect the patients from Nurse Ratched. Just as Jesus stands up for all people against the devil, McMurphy altruistically defends the patients of the ward against Nurse Ratched. Kesey includes the theme of selflessness to illustrate that McMurphy acts as a “martyr or saint”, defending the patients regardless of consequences that he may endure (222). McMurphy “risk[s] doubling his stay in the nuthouse” to defend the patients against Nurse Ratched. McMurphy does not care about how much time he must spend in the ward, but instead about helping the patients.
In Kesey’s novel One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest the character R. P. McMurphy is an anti-hero. Kesey portrays him as an anti-hero by his behaviour and motives. When McMurphy first enters the ward its all a gamble, he fakes his way in trying to escape working. When he first arrives its all for himself and he doesn’t have much care for the other patients. McMurphy immediately decides he wants to be the bull goose loony in charge.
From a different viewpoint, this can all be fake. Today, people can alter footage, change audio and make fake documents look real. This is very dangerous because people who take these things as truth will react in a way that will shake the foundations of society. If this documentary’s purpose was to mislead the people to get what they want and people believed it, then we really don’t know fact and fiction in this world. People can be easily manipulated with by small things.

Horror is a genre that creates fear and terror by scaring the audience. Human’s worst fears and nightmares are recreated into films to re-induce the fear and then sold out at film premiers? Horror can creates creatures from something as little as an imagination. A source that I found that relates with horror and my concentration of the unknown and unexpected is a documentary called Crash of the Century. This documentary was created by Discovery World based on a true aviation disaster.
