Jennifer Dozier was at the beach near Cypress Lane around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when a fight broke out between her and her boyfriend of nearly two years, Randy Paul Marcel, of Pine Street in Chauvin, police said. The fight, which witnesses say started over drugs or cigarettes, culminated in Dozier, 34, being stabbed the multiple times in the neck and torso, said Glen Boyd, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office public information officer.
